Dr Joanne Warren has twenty-seven years professional experience working with people to help them better understand and address the issues they are experiencing. In addition to her clinical psychology doctorate, Dr Warren is also a fully qualified systemic and family therapist, EMDR practitioner and has undertaken additional training with CBT and psychoanalytically informed organisations.
Using a compassionate, empathic and scientifically informed approach in her practice, Dr Warren works with adults, children and young people to more effectively approach the individual and relational distress which is so often associated with symptoms such as anxiety, depression, sleep problems, eating problems, sexual difficulty, anger problems, or behaviours such as self-harm. Such problems get in the way of people maximising their potential for living more fulfilled and happier lives. Drawing on major psychological models (such as cognitive-behavioural, attachment, and systemic approaches), Dr Warren helps free people from restrictive patterns to increase their choice of alternatives and to move forward within a more hopeful frame. Dr Warren has seen over 2500 people for psychological legal and other assessments, over 2000 further people in her psychological practice and conducted over 27,000 hours of assessment and psychological therapy.
