Together with your Cigna insurance, we can help you manage your emotions
Did you know that one in four people have some mental or emotional health issue? These issues can affect thoughts, emotions, behaviours and even our body thus disrupting your normal life.
Whatever problems you are experiencing right now we believe these are normal reactions to difficult life circumstances. It might feel that other people don’t get it but we understand and have the skills to help.
Counselling and psychotherapy – or talking therapy – are about building on a positive relationship with your therapist or counsellor, a springboard helping you make sense and manage your struggles. They’re also about learning tools and coping strategies to deal with your difficulties and move on towards the life you want.
No one-size-fits-all. We are all different and thus therapy is a very personal and subjective experience.
We specialise in a range of evidence-based therapy and counselling options, from short/medium term CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to mindfulness, schema and compassion-focused, and from person-centred to psychodynamic approaches.
We are trained to work with individuals, couples and families and adapt therapy to tailor it around your unique needs and desires.

How it Works
If you are an Cigna member with a policy covering mental health services, whether via your employer or organized by you, you can obtain an initial block of sessions with one of our psychologists in a matter of hours and see a clinician without having to pay any fees out of your own pocket.
1
Contact us to let us know you’d like to commence therapy and tell us you want to use your insurance to cover for your sessions.
2
Within 24 hours, you’ll get a FREE phone consultation with one of our clinical associates to evaluate your needs and suggest a therapist with the best expertise to deal with your unique issues. Then, a weekly slot will be reserved for you to see the Cigna registered therapist we identified, that most suits your needs.
3
Contact your insurer to tell them that you’d like to use your policy to see one of our Cigna registered psychologists for therapy.
4
Once approved by your insurer, you will be granted a set amount of initial sessions (usually between 8-12) and a unique authorisation code. Let us know of this so we can pass the information to your clinician.
5
Meet with your therapist and start the journey to change your life for the better!

How many sessions can be covered by Cigna?
Usually you will get an initial block of 8-12 weekly sessions. Before these have been fully used, you’ll evaluate with your psychologist whether more sessions would be needed. If that’s the case, you’ll have a chance to ask for an additional block of sessions from your insurer via the phone. In some instances Cigna will require a brief therapy report from your psychologist: any of the therapists you will work with will be happy to provide this quickly. This means you will be able to continue with therapy with no interruptions, while your cover is still active.
Does Health Insurance Cover Therapy?
Most private healthcare insurance companies offer coverage for therapy health services. They may just want to conduct an initial screening/assessment and then authorize a certain number of sessions with the potential to extend on a case by case basis.
It is advisable that you contact your insurance provider and inform them that you wish to pursue therapy with us and request for this to be covered by them.
This is usually a very easy and fast process.
How long the Therapy/counselling sessions last?
Therapy/counselling sessions last 50 minutes and are held at regular weekly time slots. On occasions we are able to allow some flexibility. This can be discussed with your therapist.
How many sessions will be needed to get better?
This depends on your unique issues. However, an initial 6-12 sessions are deemed enough in our experience to start seeing some positive change. More sessions are usually needed for issues which are more enduring and long-standing. These later sessions are usually aimed at working with the root-causes of your issues and simultaneously at preventing future ‘relapses’. In the greatest majority of cases, the sessions granted by your insurer, including any additional ones, will be enough to help you stir your life in the right direction.
