Dr Alice Davidson

Counselling Psychologist

I offer a safe, confidential space for short or long-term therapy sessions. As a counselling psychologist, I have trained and worked using a variety of modalities, and I often integrate aspects of my training in CBT, schema therapy and person-centred therapy to provide rich and individualised support for clients, to help them understand themselves better, feel grounded, to find purpose and to feel more secure. My way of working can be described as integrative- I assess a client’s situation thoroughly, help identify goals, and then tailor a combination of therapeutic modalities to suit a client’s individual needs during sessions.

I have extensive training in psychodynamic therapy, which is a way of working which explores how thoughts, feelings, and past experiences influence current behaviour and emotions. Whilst I am always keen to work with a very wide range of difficulties and psychological issues, I have specific additional expertise in Autism spectrum conditions, with young people, and in working with those experiencing issues with their identity. I have been working therapeutically with clients since 2016, and continue to work in NHS healthcare and charity sectors alongside my private practice

I have experience working and offering help with a wide range of psychological difficulties including the following:
