Please meet our team
Hello, my name is Andrew, and I’m a professionally trained Counselling Psychologist accredited with the Health and Care Professionals Council. I have several years of counselling and psychotherapy experience in a variety of settings, including NHS primary care, charitable organisations, and private practice.
I’ve worked with adults on a short, medium, and long-term basis, supporting them through challenges such as work-related stress, anxiety, depression, fatigue, and relationship problems. I’ve also worked with individuals facing more severe difficulties, including trauma, sexual abuse, chronic mood problems, and issues with gender and sexuality. Those of us who have experienced these kinds of struggles—or others—often find ourselves in unique circumstances, needing unique solutions. My role is to offer a compassionate, collaborative, and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever’s bringing you to therapy. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, anxious, or simply looking to understand yourself more deeply, I work with you to make sense of your experiences and move toward meaningful change.
My approach has developed over many years through training and delivering successful therapy. I work integratively, drawing from person-centred, humanistic, CBT, and psychodynamic therapies, which means I tailor our work to suit your unique needs, preferences, and goals—whether that’s managing symptoms, exploring your past, or navigating life transitions. I have in-depth knowledge of several therapeutic models and integrate aspects of these to provide a therapy that fits you.
At the heart of my work is a belief in the importance of the therapeutic relationship. I aim to offer warmth, curiosity, and respect, so you feel safe to be fully yourself. I primarily embrace humanistic approaches, including Gestalt and Person-centred modalities—these emphasise personal responsibility and helping individuals reach their potential. I’m also skilled in psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural approaches, which can be particularly effective for many people. This flexibility allows me to understand your perspective through different lenses, crafting a unique solution that aligns with your needs and circumstances.
