At our practice in Oxford Circus (W1W), all of our therapists are qualified psychologists, psychotherapists or counsellors. They are registered with several professional bodies, including the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Psychological Society (BPS), as well as, BACP, UKCP and BABCP. They use CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), psychodynamic, humanistic and integrative approaches, tailored around your needs to help you deal with your challenges and reach your goals.
Please meet our team
I am a diligent and passionate South African-trained clinical psychologist. I am registered with the HCPC in the UK, where I am based, and the HPCSA in South Africa. I completed my clinical degree at the University of South Africa (UNISA).
My strengths lie in my understanding of and human relational systems and in the Psychodynamic model in which there is a focus on early attachment and past experiences and how they impact our life in the present. I use a thoughtful, integrated approach (which includes CBT) based on sound empirical and theoretical frameworks that are culturally, contextually, and developmentally sensitive to clients’ needs. I have had valuable exposure to diverse academic and therapeutic settings across variety of socioeconomic contexts. I have completed my internship at Helen Joseph Academic Hospital and worked with a multitude of inpatient and community psychiatric health care presentations and therapeutic interventions, including assessment, individual therapy, family therapy, groups, and health psychology. I have worked in public service for the Department of Health at the Johannesburg Metro Community Clinics. Since moving to the UK I have gained experience in the NHS within a community setting where I have supported individuals presenting with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, emotional, relational and identity struggles, as well as supporting their families. My area of focus includes attachment and relational difficulties, and emotional struggles in people from all walks of life. I aim to guide you to a deeper understanding of yourself by exploring your present and past experiences in a collaborative and non-judgemental way. I will support you to make sense of your current emotional and mental health experiences in a way that allows you to feel empowered to make healthy and helpful changes to your life and relationships.
