Please meet our team
Mary O’Byrne is a qualified Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and a Clinical Supervisor with over 15 years experience working with a wide range of issues including relationship difficulties, eating disorders, trauma, anxiety and depression. Mary provides a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment in which your thoughts and problems can be worked through together.
Using her expert Psychodynamic approach, Mary will work with you to identify unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour, and ways of relating to others. Working with individuals on an open-ended basis or for an agreed number of sessions where there is a clearly defined focus, Mary will support you to think about how to make meaningful changes going forward, enabling you to enhance your life and feel more fulfilled. Mary uses CBT skills and DIT (Dynamic Interpersonal therapy) where appropriate.
Over the years, Mary has worked as a Therapist, Seminar Leader, Clinical Supervisor and Manager both within the NHS and the voluntary sector. She has extensive experience in working with drug and alcohol misuse as a counsellor and alcohol worker.
