Get to know us - Joanne Videtzky

I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the HCPC, and have worked as a therapist and a University lecturer and supervisor since 2003.  I believe strongly in the power of the therapeutic process to facilitate healing and growth and to support us in finding more helpful ways of thinking and behaving. I am very interested in the ways in which we story our lives, and how problem stories take hold.  I feel inspired by working with people to create new paths that hold possibility and hope for a future that they wish for.

I use an integrative approach that is tailored to the needs of my client.  I tend to use a combination of Narrative, Person-centred, CBT, Mindfulness and Systemic approaches.  The therapeutic relationship is central to our process, and it is important to me that this is a safe, gentle, collaborative and engaged space.

I have wide-ranging knowledge and experience in the field.  I have worked extensively with people experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, big life adjustments (such as divorce or loss), bereavement, work stresses, self-esteem challenges and those in need of parenting support.  I have also worked a lot with couples to support relationship difficulties, navigate changes or strengthen aspects of their relationship.
